Mothers Day Card Ideas from Scrapbooks Etc.

~This Mother’s Day, honor a special mom with a unique card made using a variety of ebellishments, papers, and techniques. These are just some of the spectacular cards that the awesome crew at Scrapbooks etc. came up with.
CREATE CHARACTERS WITH BUTTONS AND EMBELLISHMENTS
Design by Cathy Blackstone
To create bird accents, Cathy embellished buttons with googly eyes, patterned paper, and feathers. A chipboard branch grounds the accents, while a stamped sentiment balances the design.
ADD TEXTURE WITH EMBOSSING
Design by Leslie Lightfoot
A cool color scheme provides the backdrop for Leslie’s nature-inspired Mother’s Day card. She embossed the background paper with a circular motif for added texture, then attached chipboard accents and sentiment.

USE TRIM AND EMBELLISHMENTS TO ADD DIMENSION

Design by Erica Hernandez

Erica trimmed die-cut paper to fit the top of her card base, utilizing the curved edge as a design element and allowing the blue background to show through the die-cut flower near the top of the card. A label holder frames her greeting, while brads punctuate floral motifs, adding dimension and color.

BE CREATIVE WITH CARD FOLDS

A decorative edge adds interest to the first flap pf Mellete's C-fold card design. Stitched rub-ons and a die cut embellish the second layer of the card, with solid pink paper creating contrast with the green scallops.

LAYER ON TEXTURE AND SPARKLE

Add pizzazz to your Mother’s Day card this year with a variety of textural embellishments. Valerie included chipbord accents, felt flowers, and sparkly gems on hers.

PLAY WITH A VARIETY OF SHAPES AND BORDERS

Punched shapes, scalloped edges, and a ribbon detail give this Mother's Day card a playful personality. Valerie used letter stickers to spell out "Mother" near the bottom of the card.

DRAW ATTENTION WITH SPECIAL SENTIMENTS

The large circle embellishment on Leah’s card pulls together the color scheme and draws attention to the sentiment. A tab with the word “Grandma” extends from the top of the card, balancing a family-theme accent in the opposite corner.
